Nobuyoshi Araki ( born 1940, Tokyo )

Photographer, director of film, he produces since 1965, with the same application, traditional photos of Japanese in kimono, but also erotic images " sado-maso"

He represents one of the contradictions of Japan where to kiss in public is indecent but where sex-explicit images display without constraints in the streets of Kabuki-cho or in most of the bookshops.
No Japanese artist is as provocative or triggers such extreme reactions. People either admire Nobuyoshi Araki, or despise him. Araki's emotional bankruptcy is evidenced in his bitter and increasingly pornographic nude and bondage photographs from the 1990s.
